Roller Skating at Spin City Tuesday, April 29 9-11 am This is a reward for 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th, and 11th grade students who gave their best effort on this year's state assessments based on their teacher's observations during the testing sessions. The school will be paying for all the students to skate. Spin City will also have the concession stand and the arcade open for students to enjoy. However, students will need to bring their own money to enjoy these additional options.

USD 481 Rural Vista is seeking a secondary Science teacher for the 2025-2026 school year in White City, Kansas. Classes are small with most classes having less than 15 students. This position currently teaches 8th-grade science, Earth science, biology, chemistry, and an upper level science elective. Must have a valid teaching license. Newly hired teachers may choose to have their salaries divided into 13 payments, so they receive their first paycheck on August 15th. White City High School and Hope High School coop together for sports and activities. Together, we are known as the Rural Vista Heat. We have several coaching/sponsorships available as well. We currently offer $500 towards a single health plan through Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Congratulations to the Rural Vista Band! Members of the Hope band and the White City band combined for today's state band performance at Smoky Valley High School in Lindsborg. Mr. Ben Schierling has done a fantastic job with our rookie band students. These amazing young men and women have only been a band for 2 years, yet they were able to score a 2, 3, and 3 today at state band. Great job band students! Bus Drivers Wanted!!!! The Kansas Department of Revenue is conducting CDL Proxy Testing Event for prospective CDL drivers. The event is being hosted by Kansas City USD 500 Transportation Department on April 17th at their Central Office and Training Center. Morris County Spelling Bee February 26, 2025 Tobias Coleman, Kamryn Anderson, & Holly McCullough participated in the county spelling bee. All 3 students represented White City Schools well. However, none of our students will be moving onto the state spelling bee.

White City students in grades 6-12 attended a "Think Before You Post" assembly today. Chet Kuplen from Sports in Kansas spoke to the students about how what they think they are sharing with one person online can end up being shared with 100's, 1000's, or more people via social media and the internet. Mr. Kuplen spoke about how what a person posted as a 15 year old affected whether or not the individual was hired at age 22. Mr. Kuplen had Parker Diekmann stand in front of the audience. Then he asked everyone that followed Parker on social media or had Parker's phone number to stand up. Around 25 students stood up. Then Mr. Kuplen asked the rest of the students to stand if they were connected to those students already standing. Nearly all of the students stood. This exercise was a visual representation of how we are connected.

Due to freezing temps & blowing snow, Rural Vista schools will be closed Wednesday, Feb 19th. Activities are postponed, including Morris Co Spelling Bee.

Tuesdays(2/18) HSBB games at Goessel have been moved to Thursday(2/20). Varsity girls and JV boys will start at 4:00 with Varsity boys and 1/2 JV girls to follow using two gyms.
