Christmas Time is here. It’s time to decorate trees.
White City High School provided Christmas trees to the students. The students were given the opportunity to compete by decorating different trees. Every class from 9th to 12th has their own tree to design. These trees were decorated with whichever items the students came up with, following the prompt decided on earlier in the week. The trees are then sat in the hallway for a week or two, allowing time for them to be rated by the judges. These judges rank the Christmas trees first to fourth.
The Freshman class theme is “Dr. Seuss,” using the various Seuss characters and book titles. For this purpose, they attached paper trees from The Lorax to the wall behind the Christmas tree. The head of their tree is a classic Dr.Suess hat.
The Sophomore class theme is “Hunting,” where they dressed their tree to look as if it were a deer and then decorated the rest with ornaments. The head of their tree is a rack of antlers, along with a pair of deer-like ears.
The Junior class theme is “White City Huskies.” They decorated their tree with different ornaments that are colored the same as White City School’s primary colors. They then laid a stuffed Huskie on the ground beneath the tree. The tree is headed with a Husky mask.
As of Friday, December 6th, the Seniors are still in the process of putting together their tree. But we expect good things from these experienced tree decorators.
Good luck to all the classes!
